Additional documents are necessary to process a Landing Permit at VNKT (Kathmandu Airport):

  • Simulator Certification for Pilot in Command (PIC) for VNKT Airport’s SID/STAR and corresponding maps.
  • In the absence of a Simulator Certification, a navigator can be arranged with advance notice of 4-5 days.
  • English Proficiency Certification for PIC (required for non-native English speakers).
  • Copy of the pilot’s license certificate.
  • According to Nepal Civil Aviation, there are No Civil Aviation Authority processing fees applied for the issuance of Nepal Overflight Permit. 
  • Nepal CAA will directly issue an air navigation bill to the Airline/Operator.

The validity period for the overflight permit extends for more than 72 hours from the initially requested schedule.
